Intermediate (League Ages 11U-13U)

This division is for players considered league ages 11U-13U. 13U players are guaranteed a spot on an intermediates team. continues to build on hitting, pitching, and fielding skills at a higher level. We recommend that first-year players that are league-age 11 or 12 play in the Majors division to build their skillset prior to playing in Intermediate. Only highly skilled 11 and 12-year-olds will be eligible for Intermediate.

League age charts can be located here.

Schedule: Three events per week, each 2 hours, including potential Saturdays. Players will play home games, as well as away games at other District 1 fields throughout both Spring and Fall seasons.

Field Specifications: 50-foot pitching distance and 70-foot base paths.

Tryouts & Draft:
For spring season: players registered for Intermediate may be required to attend evaluations, depending on the number of players registered. This division does involve a draft when tryouts are required, but all players will be placed on a team in the appropriate division based on their skill set. Players who are registered for Intermediate, but are under the league age of 13U are not guaranteed placement on an Intermediate team. They could be placed on a team in a younger division. Their placement will be determined by the coaches after attending evaluations.

For fall season: Players can request to play for a specific team/coach. Every effort will be made to accommodate requests; however, fulfillment cannot be guaranteed.

Team Formation: If we are unable to field a team at this level, players will have the option to play on a team for another league within our district as space allows.

All-Stars: Players can be eligible for All-Stars at this level. If the player attends tryouts, meets Little League International requirements and District requirements, they may receive an invitation from our league to tryout for All-Stars.

Bat Rules - All bats must display the USA Baseball certification mark and have a maximum barrel diameter of 2 5/8 inches. It shall not be more than 34 inches in length, and if wood, not less than fifteen-sixteenths (15/16) inches in diameter (7/8 inch for bats less than 30″) at its smallest part. Wood bats taped or fitted with a sleeve may not exceed eighteen (18) inches from the small end.

NOTE 1: Solid one-piece wood barrel bats do not require a USA Baseball logo.

NOTE 2: Also, permitted for the Intermediate (50-70) Division and Junior League Division are bats meeting the BBCOR performance standard, and so labeled with a silkscreen or other permanent certification mark. The certification mark shall be rectangular, a minimum of a half-inch on each side and located on the barrel of the bat in any contrasting color. Aluminum/alloy and composite bats shall be marked as to their material makeup being aluminum/alloy or composite. This marking shall be silkscreen or other permanent certification mark, a minimum of one-half-inch on each side, and located on the barrel of the bat in any contrasting color.
